Marlies Schweyer is a self-taught visual artist living and working in Leipzig, Germany. She grew up in the "Blue Land" – a region in southern Germany known for its rich and varied shades of blue.

Her work explores inner landscapes shaped by memory, perception, and the transience of existence. By blending symbolic imagery with emotional resonance, her paintings move between the visible and the invisible – seeking unconscious states and moments of becoming.

At the core of her practice lies a search: for answers, for transformation, for understanding and ultimately, for the hope of overcoming the emptiness that echoes within us – and within the world.

Her current series, The Echo of Existence, engages with metaphysical spaces – those we inhabit and those we leave behind. Drawing on archetypal imagery, she sheds light on the inner and outer contradictions of our time.
